Mesa Arizona is located southeast
of Tempe.
Mesa Community College is a popular choice for adults
in Tempe and beyond preparing to attend Arizona State
University. Mesa was founded by Mormons and has kept
the disciplined reputation of its Mormon founders. Public
smoking was once prohibited in the downtown area. Today
downtown Mesa offers some unique antique shops that are
fun to browse. The heart of Mesa is the area around the
Fiesta Mall which draws shoppers from Tempe as
well as Mesa. There are a number of nice apartments located
around the Fiesta Mall that are very reasonably priced.
Mesa runs along the southern border of Tonto National
Forest. Commuters need to drive around Tonto which
makes the commute north longer. If you don't mind the
commute, Mesa is a great place to live. You'll get much
house for your $$ in Mesa. New home communities are built
sparsely throughout the area. The western most end of
Mesa borders Apache Junction which is an older community.
Some new residential areas are going up close by Mesa.
Maricopa is a popular new residential area. New
homes go for around 130K. However, you'll be hard pressed
to find a grocery store.
